Business Integrity Principles

Oyu Tolgoi’s Business Integrity Principles form the foundation of how we operate. These principles are set out in The way we work, our code of business conduct. Everyone involved with Oyu Tolgoi, including our contractors, are encouraged to report breaches of our business integrity principles through our Speak out process.

Conflicts of interest
  • Personal interests must not conflict with responsibilities to Oyu Tolgoi LLC
  • All actual or potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed
Anti-corruption
  • Corruption, including bribery and facilitation payments, is not tolerated at Oyu Tolgoi
  • Oyu Tolgoi does not make payments to political parties or individual politicians
Fraud
  • Oyu Tolgoi property and financial resources are for the sole use of Oyu Tolgoi and not for personal use
  • Contractors and their representatives must not commit, be party to, or be involved in fraud
  • Misappropriation or theft of funds, assets, misstatement of accounting information, bribery or otherwise engaging in misleading and deceptive conduct will not be tolerated at Oyu Tolgoi
Anti-trust
  • Contractors and their representatives must not disclose, seek, or exchange commercially sensitive information to or from a third-party
Data privacy and confidentiality
  • Oyu Tolgoi regards the lawful and correct treatment of personal data as being of utmost importance
  • Personal data must be kept secure from unauthorised access, loss, destruction, misuse, modification, or disclosure
  • Oyu Tolgoi confidential information must remain confidential at all times
  • Contractors and their representatives must not discuss commercially sensitive or confidential information with anyone
Speak-out

If you know of or suspect any of the following, please make a report to Speak out:

  • Someone is involved in a fraud, corruption, or theft
  • Someone is not compliant with Oyu Tolgoi’s business integrity requirements related to conflicts of interest, anti-trust, data privacy and anti-corruption
  • Whilst working for or on behalf of Oyu Tolgoi LLC, someone is not compliant with Mongolian laws or a health, safety, or environmental hazard is being created or ignored.
