We ensure fair and transparent recruitment practices. All applicants are provided with equal opportunities.
Our recruitment process begins with a position being identified and defined.
Positions are announced on our website under Current Vacancies.
Once the application deadline has passed, we initially screen all applications in accordance with the following process:
- Job applications are screened against the selection criteria as described in the announcement
- Applicants who pass the selection criteria will be invited to interview
- References from previous employers will be checked
The selection committee comprises two or more members. A final decision is never be made by a single person.
No fees are charged for applying for employment with Oyu Tolgoi.

It is our policy to give hiring priority to Mongolians and residents of the South Gobi region. By the end of Q'1 2017, over 93 per cent of Oyu Tolgoi’s workforce is Mongolian of which 20 per cent are from the South Gobi community.
