Incident at the Oyu Tolgoi site

Oyu Tolgoi, Umnugobiaimag, Mongolia - An incident occurred today when a crane tipped over at the Oyu Tolgoi site. The 50 tonne hydraulic crane was operating at the head-frame construction of Shaft  #2. There were no injuries as a result of the incident.

All the relevant authorities, including the Khanbogd police department, the Umnugobiaimag’s Emergency Authority, the State Emergency Authority and Special Agencies were notified of the incident. An investigation into why this happened will commence later today.

An incident update will be reported by the company shortly.
