Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - Oyu Tolgoi LLC regrets to confirm a double fatality occurred at the Oyu Tolgoi site in the South Gobi aimag.
Oyu Tolgoi President and Chief Executive Officer Cameron McRae said: “There were two fatalities at the site after a tragic accident shortly before 5pm yesterday. The individuals worked for a contractor company. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the families and colleagues of the workers.”
“Further details will be released once the families have been fully briefed. We are co-operating closely with the police and other relevant authorities. Once more facts are known, we will issue further information.”
“Safety is paramount for everybody working at Oyu Tolgoi. All of our focus is now with our employees, contractors and their families who have been affected by this tragedy.”
