Expression of Interest

It is important to understand the difference between EOI and Tender. It is common that suppliers get confused about these two procurement terms.

Expression of Interest: An EOI is only preliminary step to formal tender process to understand and identify whether there are potential suppliers in the market that are interested in and capable of satisfying the needs of the business.

Tender: Tender activity takes place after EOI is completed. Based on suppliers' submitted materials for EOI participation. Oyu Tolgoi Procurement team shortlists the number of EOI responses and build a Bidders List. Then these shortlisted suppliers receive tender invites through Ariba system.
